Minnesota's Newest Mountain Biking Hotspot!
The International Mountain Biking Association, Minnesota Off-Road Cyclist, and CLTA personnel succeeded in garnering funds to build a world class mountain biking course within the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area. Funding was approved by the legislature in April of 2008, ensuring matching dollars will be released allowing for the construction of the course described below.
The finest mountain biking found anywhere in the midwest is emerging within the Cuyuna State Recreation Area.
Trail systems are being mapped out and courses will be set up during the spring of 2010.
Construction was planned initially for the summer of 2009 but delayed due to a number of reasons.
Please call the CRSRA office at 218-546-5926 for the latest information on off-road biking opportunities in this area.
The area is currently open to off and on road gravel) biking throughout the 5,000 acre state recreation area. Many believe this will become the premier off-road biking recreation area in the Midwest.
A plan for opening a multi-level mountain biking course is a reality for the lucky people who visit and ride in the Cuyuna Range Recreation Area in 2010!
